California Delegation Visits Austin

In mid-July, Joe Gagliardi, of Choose Folsom, lead a delegation from Folsom/El Dorado and Rancho Cordova California to Texas. The delegation of 45 came Austin to learn about Austin’s downtown and waterfront real estate development in addition to Austin’s growing life sciences industry.

Presenting panelists included Christine Maguire-City of Austin Redevelopment Division Manager, Dewitt Peart- CEO of the Downtown Alliance, Dr. Ruben Rathnasingham- Director of Health Collab and Gus Cardenas- CEO & Co-Founder of AHC. They shared historical evolution of downtown properties as well as a forecast of our community’s future.

 Productive discussions transpired about the Austin Healthcare Council, the Innovation District (with a health focus) and how they might be related.
